I would always skim past the stained pages with a crinkled nose and a sour expression, every time irrationally afraid of inhaling the remnants of something a decade old and terrible.
Those were the books that you couldn't put down until the morning sun started trickling in. but despite the dull aching behind your eyes and the stiffness in your back, those were the books that always made you feel so awake, so alive and satisfied and exhilarated.
Those were the books that without fail made me collapse into bed with a silly smile on my face, the adventures of a far off place still circling and circling and circling through my head.

ReplyDeletehaha thanks for liking my recording ;) i was recording myself reading exam notes to that online recording site then i got distracted and naturally started reading plath. then i thought it would be a good idea to open heaps of tabs, record a poem/novel fragment on each one. open a youtube tab for the music. then open a master copy tab of the recording site and press record. then i put the microphone up to speakers (so the computer is literally recording itself) and just toggle around the play and pause of the different readings!
i finish in the morning on thursday :D so around 12.30am i think. why don't we have a girls night out.. get food & watch movie & wander around the city at night? ;) missed your birthday too so movie and/or dinner is on me!
